How you set up and manage your service
We provide each subscriber with a link to a secure dedicated web site that only the subscriber and we have access to.
It is through this web site that you control how the service is delivered, such as:
- setting up and changing the monitoring zone.
- setting up and changing the details of the service being provided.
It is also the means by which you see the position of your animal or equipment in real time.
The Monitoring Zone
In order to receive alerts advising you that your animal or equipment is not where it is supposed to be, you first have to define the zone within which the animal or equipment is expected to stay. We call this this Monitoring Zone as it is this zone that our computer systems use to check.
By accessing your web site, you will be able to call up an aerial map showing the local vicinity and then by using “point and click” you will be able to set the boundary of the Monitoring Zone.
You can change the boundary at any time, for example, to allow for your animal or equipment being moved to a new location.
You can also turn off the Monitoring Zone, for example, if you want to move your animal or equipment to a different part of the country and you want to watch its progress. You would not of course get any alerts in this case.
Setting and managing alerts
The computer system alerts you when your animal or equipment goes outside the Monitoring Zone. The alert can be by text message and/or by e-mail.
In order to receive the alerts, you will need to enter your telephone number and e-mail address via your dedicated web site. You can change these as often as you like.
You can also “block” alerts, for example when your animal or equipment is being moved from one location to another or the collar is being removed from your animal.
